U.S. Forest Service Gives Fire Resiliency Grants to Ukiah, Pomo Indians

According to a press release, the City of Ukiah and the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians have been given a $9 million grant to conduct wildifire mitigation in Mendocino County. The U.S. Forest Service describes the many layered projects as increasing community fire resiliency in the Ukiah Valley area and through Mendocino County over the next five years. The USFS also granted the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians almost $1 million for the Community Fire Defense Project.
