The Lakeport City Council will hold a special meeting today at 6 pm to discuss two requests for funding from Congress. Congressman Mike Thompson, as are all members of Congress, will submit 15 Community Project Funding requests each fiscal year. The two requests totaling just over $51 million would cover the development of a regional navigation center to assist homeless individuals in Lakeport and the predevelopment and construction costs of a regional recreation center in the city of Clearlake and an aquatic/community center swim center in Lakeport.
