Lake, Mendocino and Area Muncipalities to Receive Caltrans Funding for Roadwork

Three Lake County and three Mendocino County roadway safety projects, as well as projects in Eureka, Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg have been approved for funding by Caltrans. The agency has awarded $225 million for projects designed to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries on city and county roads. The LakeCountyNews reports the funding comes from the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program and Caltrans awards these grants every other year to cities, counties, and tribal governments. A total of 282 projects from 155 local agencies will be funded.
