A Humboldt County man has been sentenced to six years in prison after running into a family’s mini-van on Highway 101 in Mendocino while driving with a blood alcohol level that was over the three times the legal limit. Tyson Randall Young of Fortuna had been previously been convicted of DUI. One of the victims in the February 2022 crash, a child, suffered a “partial amputation by trauma” of her leg due to the accident, costing the family over a million dollars in medical treatment.
