$3.2 Million Computation Error Shows Up Mendocino County Budget Report

A misunderstanding by a county official may be responsible for a multi-million dollar reporting error by the Mendocino Cannabis Department. MendocinoCountyPublicBroadcasting reports that during the mid-year review of the county budget, the board became aware of the error in a $17.5 million dollar grant. Cannabis Program Director Kristin Nevedal made the $3.2 million dollar error regarding the Local Jurisdiction Assistance Grant Program. Nevedal says none of the money has been spent and that the error was due to an oversight in computation. The error became apparent during preparations for Nevedal’s testimony at a Senate Oversight Hearing.
