In a press release issued Tuesday evening, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors met in closed session to discuss the situation at the Creekside Cabins RV Park, where a sinkhole has restricted access to and from the park. The Board voted unanimously to direct County Counsel to initiate litigation against the owner of the park, Teresa Thurman and Houser Holdings LLC, to address hazardous conditions at the site. In the meantime, none of the families housed at the properties have been moved, and the deadline of Friday to remove the temporary bridge across the sinkhole remains. The county and the owner of the property are at odds over who should repair the sinkhole.
