A crash on Monday in Potter Valley resulted in a fatality. CHP reports a man driving a small SUV south on Eel River Road crossed the double yellow line and struck another car. The driver of the car struck sustained major injuries. The passenger in the car, Joshua Michael Champion, was from Willits and died in the crash. The driver of the SUV and his passenger both sustained major injuries. The crash is under investigation and the driver of the SUV, Samuel Caldwell, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
