A Fort Bragg man was arrested on suspicion of forgery recently after allegedly being found in possession of a Ukiah woman’s checkbook. Sheriff’s deputies in Willits stopped a man who was known to be “out of custody on bond” and subject to search by law enforcement. When deputies searched the suspect, identified as Carlos Ogawa, a 35-year-old resident of Fort Bragg, they did not find any contraband, but when searching his vehicle, they found a checkbook belonging to a 77-year-old Ukiah woman.
