The new chief of the Lakeport Fire Protection District will be officially sworn in this evening. The LakeCountyNews reports Patrick Reitz will take his oath during the district board of director’s meeting beginning at 5 p.m. Reitz has served for more than 35 years in emergency services, including experience in fire, emergency medical services, or EMS, and law enforcement in Ohio, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, and California. After the swearing-in, there will be a 15-minute recess from the meeting in order to offer congratulations, take photos and enjoy some light refreshments.
