Live Action Gas Drill Held in Ukiah Last Week

Late last week, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority held a Live Action Gas Drill with Pacific Gas and Electric and several other Mendocino County agencies. The DailyJournal reports the training was held due to “an increase in third parties hitting gas lines,” and PG&E partnered with UVFA and other local first responder agencies to hold “a joint safety exercise to simulate the coordination during an emergency event involving natural gas, including dig-ins to gas pipelines or gas leaks. PG&E reminds the public that the 811 line is a free line locator service that anyone should avail themselves of before digging.
