The Lake County Board of Supervisors last night voted unanimously to accept the donation of 620 acres along East Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks and an as-yet unspecified amount of funds from the John T. Klaus 1994 Trust. According to the LakeCountyNews, the process of accepting the donation has taken a couple of years, due to the death of the original trust attorney handling the gift. The next step will be the actual transfer of the property and formation of a management plan after soliciting public comment on the park.
