The Fort Bragg Winter shelter is ready to open. A shelter bed or vouchers for motel rooms will be offered on any night from now through April 30 when the forecast low is below 40 degrees or the chance of rain is 60 percent or more. The Winter Shelter program will work pretty the saame as last year, with the exception that the program will be active through April and those in need of shelter will go to the Hospitality Center, and if no beds are available, they’ll be given vouchers for a hotel room, and there will be two trained social workers on hand to render assistance whenever possible.
