Clearlake City Council Approves Resolution to Apply for Funding Allocation

The Clearlake Council met last week and unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the application and adoption of a plan to allocate housing funding. The RecordBee reports the Permanent Local Housing Allocation program was created in 2017, funded by fees collected from the recording of real estate transactions in the state. The city was unaware of the allocation until recently and now must make the application for those funds as soon as possible. Although Clearlake’s portion only amounts to about $175,000, the additional money is welcome and will in some way be used toward affordable housing in the area.
