At the last Lake County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board heard a report on COVID-19 from interim Public Health officer Dr. Karl Sporer. He said that although the virus is currently waning, there is concern among public health officials that a wave of infections may be on the way. Based on anecdotal information, Sporer said people are getting vaccinated and boosted, and that the flu along with COVID will be an issue as people start to gather during the holidays.
