A wildfire burning near Willits yesterday triggered evacuation warnings. The Walker Fire was burning south of Willits on the east side of Highway 101 in Mendocino County. The Mendocino County Sheriff issued the evacuation warning for the Pine Mountain and Ridgewood Road subdivisions around 4:22. At around midnight, the Mendocino County Sheriff downgraded the evacuation warning to Situational Awareness. Crews worked overnight on the mop-up of the blaze.
