Representative Mike Thompson on Sunday proclaimed Lakeport Police Officer Juan Altamirano and Cory Smith of the Lake County Fire Protection District as the 2022 Lake County Public Safety Heroes. The Lake County News Reports Thompson honors law enforcement officers and first responders in the community every year for going above and beyond the call of duty. Smith was awarded for his work during the Cache Fires and Altamirano for his assistance in using his own resources to help a family in immediate need.
