The governor announced yesterday $254 million in grants to public libraries in the state to be used for renovation and improvement of facilities. Lake County’s four libraries will receive just under $1.1 million. The funding is the first round of the $439 million Building Forward Library Improvement and Grant Program, reported by the Lake County News as the largest investment in public libraries in the history of the state.
