Mendocino County Public Health officials reported this week that according to the Federal Drug Administration website, the updated boosters are called “bivalent” because they “include components of the original virus strain and the Omicron variant. County Health recommends getting a new booster shot “at the same time as your annual flu shot this fall. The flu and Covid vaccines are recommended for everyone older than six months.
