High Levels of Blue-Green Algae Toxins in Water in Parts of Clear Lake

As reported yesterday, a drinking water advisory remains in effect for households that use private intakes to draw their water from Clear Lake along the Lower and Oaks Arms shoreline. Samples were taken at 19 locations on Clearlake and visible harmful algae blooms were found in 14 of those samples.  Sixteen samples were submitted for analysis which indicated five locations, including Clear Lake Oaks had dangerous levels of the toxin.  For more information go to the County of Lake cyanobacteria webpage at lakecountyca.gov/Government/Directory and search water resources.
