The Fort Bragg City Council has rejected the idea of putting a general sales tax measure on the November ballot saying it would compete with countywide sales taxes already on the ballots. The MendoVoice reports members of the council and community took issue with a general tax, despite the fact that revenues from the tax would be used to address the housing crisis in the area and that putting the measure on the November ballot would be easier and less expensive than holding a special election on the issue.
