The program manager at Lake County Behavioral Health Services has announced that the only homeless shelter in Lakeport will close on September 4th. The rental contract for the building that houses Elijah House is up and staff and the foundation that supports Elijah House are struggling to find homes for about 13 residents who remain at the shelter. The RecordBee reports that case management services will continue to be available through Elijah House’s office location in Lucerne. It is thought that a number of residents have transitioned to the North Shore facility.
