After a four-day closure, the Sutter Lakeside Birthing Center has reopened. According to the Lake County News, the center was given the ok to resume services Saturday afternoon. The center had to close last Tuesday due to a lack of a qualified obstetrician and was diverting patients to other care providers. The California Nurses Association has criticized the center for only staffing two obstetricians. Sutter Lakeside is responsible for delivering about half the babies born in Lake County each year.
