Mendocino County cannabis growers who practice sustainable farming have received grants from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s new Qualified Cultivator Grant Program. The $6 million in possible funding will be available until next April and will help small farmers who prioritize sustainable farming practices. Only agencies, non-profits, or tribes are eligible to apply. So far three local growers have been earmarked for a grant of just over $1.3 million. More information about the Qualified Cultivator Funding Opportunity can be found at nrm.dfg.ca.gov.
