Sustainable Cannabis Farmers Could Receive Grants

Mendocino County cannabis growers who practice sustainable farming have received grants from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s new Qualified Cultivator Grant Program. The $6 million in possible funding will be available until next April and will help small farmers who prioritize sustainable farming practices. Only agencies, non-profits, or tribes are eligible to apply. So far three local growers have been earmarked for a grant of just over $1.3 million.
