A Laytonville man has been arrested after disturbing the peace, destroying private property, and engaging in a standoff with officers. Shane Workman was causing a disturbance, saying he was going to kill occupants of residences in the area, and as deputies arrived they were informed a man fitting Workman’s description was slashing tires. Deputies located him, ordered him to surrender, and Workman then got into his truck, threatening to kill officers and ram their vehicle with his truck. After repeated attempts to subdue him, a K9 Officer was deployed and he was pulled from his vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, vandalism, and violating his probation.
