The Office of Emergency Services in the state has announced the first round of awards for the Prepare California program. Lake County is one of the first to participate in the first in the nation project, aimed at building more natural disaster resilient communities. Lake County has been awarded just over $636,000, which the county aims to use to hire a Climate Resilience officer among other climate-related goals.
