After less than a year on the job, the Lake County community development director Mary Darby has resigned. The Lake County News reports that since her hiring, Darby appeared before the board of supervisors five time in closed door performance evaluations; generally those only take place twice a year at the most. She was the sixth person to head the department since 2018. Her resignation comes less than a month after that of the Public Health officer, Dr. Erik McLaoughlin. Darby’s last day with the countywill be November 4th.
