The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors decided that proceeds from a proposed sales tax ballot measure would go towards fire prevention, rather than a combined fire and water safety sales tax. The proposed tax is a quarter-cent that would benefit fire districts as well as fire protection and prevention in the County. According to the Mendocino Voice, the board decided that the proposed combined tax would fail at the polls.
