A wildfire that broke out Wednesday afternoon above Laws Avenue in the hills west of Ukiah causing the Mendocino county Sheriff to issue an evacuation order for the area. Around 2:30 authorities reported the Laws fire to be about a half an acre while agencies responded to help with traffic control. Fire retardant and water were dropped. The acre and a half fire was reported to be fully contained around 4:45 pm.
