Lake County’s Jobless Numbers Lowest Since 1990

Last month’s jobless numbers for Lake County were the lowest recorded since 1990, according to Employment Development Department records. The Lake County News reports May’s preliminary jobless rate was 3.8%, down from 4.5% in April and 7.5% a year ago. Eight of the state’s 11 industry sectors gained jobs in May with Information posting the largest increase. Lake County’s unemployment rate ranked it No. 38 statewide of the state’s 58 counties, with Mendocino coming in at 2.9% or 22nd in the state.
