A lawsuit brought by the former Human Resources director for the county of Lake has been settled. Pamela Nichols brought suit against the county for wrongful termination and racial discrimination. The board of supervisors approved the settlement during a closed session at their Tuesday meeting. In a video posted by the county, Board of Supervisors chair E.J. Crandall announced the settlement in the amount of $500,000 and the county will accept Ms. Nichols’ resignation in lieu of prior action, will ensure training in the discrimination harassment complaint process, continue its ongoing process of implementing cultural awareness training and will pay the cost of mediation.
