Lake County Planners Reject Monte Cristo Vineyards Cannabis Proposal

The Lake County Planning Commission declined to approve a proposal to create a cannabis grow operation on the site of a local vineyard. The Monte Cristo Vineyards LLC proposal required a unanimous vote of the three members of the commission present, and given neighborhood opposition, the removal of 40 acres of grapevines to allow for one of the largest single plantings of cannabis in the county concerns over water usage, traffic and noise, the proposal did not pass. The commission’s vote is expected to be appealed.
