The Health Services Department of Lake County recently informed the Lake County Sheriff that it does not have enough money in its budget to cover the jail medical contract and that it will no longer administer the contract for jail medical services after a recent contract extension was granted to the current provider. This has prompted the Sheriff to ask the Lake County Board of Supervisors to consider what to do next. The board will meet tomorrow at 8 to discuss, along with a number of other items on the consent agenda.
