Fort Bragg’s new city manager has requested to be released from his contract, citing family issues. John H. Ford said issues with transitioning his son from middle school as one of the main issues, causing stress in his family, and he said he would not be able to be as active in the community as he would like. According to a press release, Mayor Bernie Norvell expressed disappointment at the loss of Mr. Ford, but that he understands the priority of family first. Norvell also said the city has chosen a new Police Chief and will be announcing the appointment shortly.
