Residents looking to replace their woodstoves can find help from the Lake County Air Quality Management District. Funding is available to replace stoves with new EPA-certified wood, electric, or gas stove if replacement is completed by the end of June. Woodburning fireplaces that are used as a primary source of heat are also eligible. The Woodsmoke Reduction Program is a voucher program supported by the California Climate Investments Program that can provide grants of up to $5,000 depending on household income. Applications are at lcaqmd.net; follow the link to the woodstove/fireplace grant on the grants page.
