The Ukiah Police Department is asking residents with surveillance cameras on the exterior of their homes and businesses to register with the agency so that if an incident occurs in the area, video from those cameras can aid in their efforts to keep the community safe. One of the first steps after a crime is reported is to canvas the area, looking for clues, including video from businesses or homes in the area. Participation in the registry is completely voluntary.
