Lakeport police are investigating the origins of an explosive device found outside a grocery store last Tuesday evening. Police responded and an officer determined that the device was a cardboard tube and contained powder, shrapnel, and a fuse. It was determined that the device would not explode on its own. How it got into the parking lot and how long it had been there is still under investigation.
