Fort Bragg’s Pudding Creek Beach Shows Contamination

Visitors to Fort Bragg’s Pudding Creek Beach will have to enjoy the water from the beach, as bacteriological quality sampling results showed ocean water quality did not meet state standards. Five local beaches are tested by the county every Tuesday from April to October to determine the presence and levels of harmful bacteria. None of the other beaches have tested positive this year. If Pudding Creek tests positive a third time, an in-depth investigation will be launched. Contact with ocean water should be avoided for 50 yards on either side of the creek drainage where it enters the ocean.
