Although hospitalizations for COVID-19 are still low, the actual number of cases in Mendocino County are on the rise according to E.R. physician, Dr. Drew Colfax. The Ukiah Daily Journal reports that as of Friday the 21st, there were 30 new cases a week reported and Dr. Colfax says the slow surge that was anticipated with the discovery of the Omicron BA.2 variant appears to be happening, however, the surge won’t be anything like the county experienced in the early months of the year.
