Woman Who Was Found Dead in County Died of Drug Toxicity

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office has released a statement regarding the death of one of two women found in the county in January. After interviewing those who had information related to her activities before her death, it has been determined that Allysa Mae Sawdey died of acute methamphetamine toxicity and there were no other significant contributing factors. Sawdey’s death along with the death of another local woman has been the subject of social media speculation that the deaths were the work of a mysterious serial killer responsible for victims in Sonoma, Napa, and Sacramento county, which the Mendocino County Sheriff’s office has denied.
