Hazy, brownish smokey skies? There are no active fires in the area. The National Weather Service says they are the result of the convergence of smoke and dust from across the Pacific Ocean, from wildfires burning in Siberia and Russia as well as ongoing fires and dust storms occurring in Mongolia and China. There is also the potential that local, private agricultural burns could also be contributing to the area’s hazy skies.
