There’s been a twist in the saga of the Palace Hotel in Ukiah. It appears now that former investment banker and venture capitalist Minal Shankar will purchase the property from Ukiah residents Jitu and Paru Ishwar. Shankar, a Ukiah Valley resident, says she wants to transform the landmark into a ground-floor marketplace with shops, restaurants, and bars with the upper floors renovated back to a hotel. Shankar has entered into escrow on the property.
