Lake County Board of Supers Rejects Proposed Hold on Cannabis and Ag Projects

The Lake County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday rejected a proposal to enact an interim urgency ordinance that would have placed a 45-day hold on new agricultural and cannabis cultivation projects. According to the Lake County News, Supervisor Bruno Sabatier presented the item in order to find ways to protect the county water supply amid a deepening drought. Various members of the board stated opposition and said that work on proposals to rework the planning process to address issues like water was close to completion and they wanted to wait. Ultimately, the board took no action on the proposal.
