Gilroy Garlic Festival is No More

The Gilroy Garlic Festival is no more. Founded in 1979, the festival has been one of the most famous in the country and has raised more than $12 million for school and local non-profits. Garlic Festival Association Past President Tom Cline and Vice President-Elect Cindy Fellows said “lingering uncertainties” from the pandemic and “prohibitive insurance requirements by the City of Gilroy” has resulted in the festival being canceled indefinitely. Smaller events are still on the schedule in Gilroy for 2022.
