The man known as the “Red Bearded Burglar” has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon. William Allen Evers was also charged with multiple counts of burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and destruction of private property, but those charges were dropped as a part of a plea agreement. His sentence was based not only am 1on the conduct to which he admitted to but also on the fact he already had two strikes against him and 20 years of criminal behavior.
