A fire at the Oak Glenn Apartments in Willits has left two units destroyed and its occupants homeless. The fire was the result of a stove-top accident where the tenant had been deep frying and the oil flared. The tenant didn’t have an extinguisher and tried to smother the flames with a blanket. Another tenant was trapped on a balcony of her apartment and was rescued by firefighters. She sustained burns on her hands but declined treatment. The Red Cross is assisting the two tenants and a GoFundMe page has been established.
