A day after the superintendent of the Middletown Unified School District resigned his position, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported it had become aware of an incident involving a parent possibly illegally recording a conversation between themselves and Tim Gill without his consent. A search warrant was served to the person suspected of making that recording. Under California law, recording someone without their knowledge — is illegal, with exceptions for law enforcement investigations. The investigation is ongoing.
