“Red Bearded Burglar’s” Preliminary Hearing Is Today

The man nicknamed the “Red Bearded Burglar” will appear in Mendocino County Superior Court in Ukiah today at 10 am to determine whether he’ll stand trial for a laundry list of offenses in the last year. William Evers is charged with 15 counts of burglary, two counts of vandalism, and one count each of attempted murder and grand theft. Evers could be sentenced to at least 475 years if convicted on all counts. He’s being held at the Mendocino County Jail in lieu of a $2.5 million bond.
