One of Lake County’s own has received a national award. Erica Boomer, who teaches agriculture and is the FFA advisor at Upper Lake High School was recently given one of five 2021 Cariston Family Foundation Outstanding Teachers of America Awards. Boomer has been teaching for 16 years and previously was named California Teacher of the Year in 2018. The award will be formally announced tomorrow at the Upper Lake Unified School District Board Meeting.
