California counties are now being required to adopt the 1115 waiver, which expands alcohol/drug treatment services to anyone on Medical. The waiver was previously offered to the County of Lake and was declined. Currently those in need of treatment must go through the county, and many falling through the cracks while awaiting services. A Zoom meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to determine if Behavioral Health will take on full responsiblity for such treatment or choose to partner with a private agency. Because the waiver was not accessed earlier, many local residents in need went without care. Whether to partner and with whom will be discussed during the Zoom meeting.
