Cleanup by the State of Properties Affected by Cache and Hopkins Fires Has Been Completed

The State Office of Emergency Services has reported that the cleanup of properties affected by the Cache Fire in Clearlake has been finished. The remains of 78 homes and properties in the county whose owners enrolled in the Debris Removal Program have all been cleared, as well as 19 properties in Mendocino County affected by the Hopkins Fires. Metal and concrete are diverted for recycling, while ash, debris, and contaminated soil are disposed of at lined landfills approved by the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
